about me

I am a lifelong resident of Buffalo, New York. I am passionate about serving the community that I live, work and raise my children in. I believe that we can all be “the change we wish we see in the world” and I hope that my work supports this belief.

I graduated from Canisius College with a Bachelor’s of Psychology in 2009. I went on to obtain my Master’s of Science of Community Mental Health Counseling in 2012.

Throughout graduate school and beyond, I obtained work experience with adolescents and adults in community behavioral health agencies. I went on to work with immigrant and refugee populations, most specifically survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking. This work allowed me to be informed about how systems impact individuals and to truly examine my own privilege. Through this experience, I have become a staunch advocate for survivors specifically, and for women in general. Whenever I have the opportunity, I utilize my privilege to advocate for systemic changes that I have seen impact my clients individually.

I have worked as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor since obtaining my license in 2016. I have worked in both community settings and private practice. In my work as a therapist, I have worked to specialize in providing support to trauma survivors and have had the immense privilege of seeing so many of my clients create meaning out of their most difficult moments and overcome these tragedies to become more deeply connected with themselves and with others. The resiliency of the human condition and the capacity for change is something that keeps me motivated and creates meaning in my own life.

In 2014, I became a mother for the first time. This experience created and shaped a new version of myself that has evoked critical space for my own growth and development. After experiencing a traumatic labor and delivery, my daughter’s subsequent stay in the NICU and two major heart surgeries, I realized how little I understand about maternal healthcare. Through this experience, I sought out training opportunities to increase my knowledge and have since become a staunch advocate and therapeutic support for postpartum care.

I continue to work tirelessly to increase my knowledge and training to be the most supportive and effective therapist for each client I meet. I am proud and excited to be offering services in space that allows for healing and growth. If you are interested in learning more about me or working together, please feel free to connect as I am accepting new clients.
